Mark Groover, CPA

Mark Groover is a Certified Public Accountant and tax partner at Lauterbach, Borschow & Co. He received his Bachelor of Accountancy from New Mexico State University.

Upon graduating, Mark began his career at Lauterbach, Borschow & Co. as an audit and assurance (A&A) staff member. He briefly left to serve as the Assistant Controller for Financial Accounting and Reporting for Petro Stopping Centers, one of the largest full-service travel center companies in the United States and its sister company C&R Distributing et al., headquartered in El Paso. Mark rejoined Lauterbach, Borschow & Co. in 1992 as an A&A supervisor. He later changed his focus to tax and became a tax partner in 2001.

Throughout his career, Mark has served a broad and diverse client base, ranging in size and industries. Mark now specializes in federal and state income tax planning and compliance for real estate companies and investors, professionals and professional services firms, high net-worth individuals and their families, closely-held/family-owned businesses and retailers/wholesalers. He serves as co-chair of the Firm’s Information Technology committee and as corporate secretary.

Mark moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico with his family when he was a high school senior and now considers El Paso home. He has been an active member of the community and has served as a board member and treasurer of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of El Paso, a board member of Family Services of El Paso, and has participated in other civic activities.
