Lauterbach, Borschow & Co. (Lauterbach) is looking for a dynamic Audit Associate to join our team. You will have the opportunity to work as a team member on diverse audit engagements within our financial services and real estate industries. For decades, Lauterbach’s assurance professionals have been helping clients improve their performance through the most challenging business cycles.
Position Description:
- Understand client’s needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control system, employees, company values and industry-related GAAP and GAAS issues
- Develop an understanding of the Lauterbach, Borschow & Co. audit approach and tools
- Assess risks and evaluate the client’s internal control structure
- Perform substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues
- Draft financial statements under prescribed formats
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum B.A / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university
- Accounting Major
- Meets or shows progress towards education requirement for CPA certification in Texas
- Travel to assigned client locations is required. Must have access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to those locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office
- Ability to work as an effective member of a team
- Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment
- Client focused
- Ability to multitask
- Shows progress towards CPA
